| Opening of the New Platform for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway at Porthmadog Harbour Transport Minister Edwina Hart officially opened the new £1.3 million station at Porthmadog harbour on May 22nd 2014 with Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas – AM for Dwyfor Meirionnydd and F&WHR chairman Dr. John Prideaux, who said: “Rebuilding Harbour has been an ambitious project involving a huge number of volunteers, staff and excellent local contractors. “It called on skills more usually associated with the national network than with a heritage railway.” “Completing such a complex project on time and despite adverse conditions reflects huge credit on everyone involved.” Sunrock Balconies who installed all the glass balustrading were selected for their design and welsh connections. |
